Hi, thanks so much! I hope I’ll get it done soon. Deadline is in november but I am already so hyped haha.

I’ll try to give you a quick crash-course on my limbs (that totally doesn’t sound weird or anything).

For the arms, diamonds and boot caps I used yoga mats. These are thinner and softer than EVA foam, which I used to make the main parts of the boots.

A wild delivery of EVA foam appeared.

I am TERRIBLE with patterns so it took me a bit to figure one out. Just use thin cardboard - those are doing great for the patterns.

Once I figured out the shape I just cut the pieces out of the foam and glued them together.

For the EVA foam you’ll need a heat gun to properly shape it. It is really sturdy but easy to work with when warmed up :)

Hot glue all that stuff togetheeeer! 

For the boots I wear (old ass 90s) plateau shoes underneath to add some height - it is also more comfortable to walk with these underneath.

To keep the boots in place I added this horseshoe-shaped thing on the inside - with that thing no further fastening was necessary.

You most likely already wondered why the frick the EVA foam is so shiny all of the sudden. That’s why they are sealed with wood glue. This is a good step to do before painting them, because the foam will suck up the color A LOT if you don’t do that first.

My boots aren’t painted yet, so I sadly can’t show you a picture of the finished pair. But the paint will be the same way as the arms.

Start with green spray paint. Then add the black part. Done!

For the floaty fingers there are more ways than one to achieve that effect. Wire, transparent plastic… I went with black gloves + additional fingers because I will be heading to a con and want to be able to actually use my fingers while being there.
